1 lb. elbow macaroni
1–2 lbs. shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite mix)
16 oz heavy whipping cream
½ bag OTC (Original Trenton Cracker) Oyster and Soup Crackers or similar (for crumble topping)
Optional: Butter (for extra richness in crumble)
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add 1 lb of elbow macaroni and cook until al dente (firm to the bite).
Drain the pasta and set aside.
Place the cooked pasta in a baking dish.
Add 1–2 lbs. of shredded cheese and mix well with the pasta.
Pour in 16 oz of heavy whipping cream, adding just enough so that the cream reaches the top of the noodles—don’t overfill.
Cover the dish with foil.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the covered dish in the oven and bake for 40 minutes.
While the mac & cheese bakes, prepare the topping:
Add ½ a bag of OTC crackers to a blender or food processor.
Pulse until you reach your desired crumble consistency—fine or chunky, your choice.
(Optional: mix with 1–2 tablespoons of melted butter for a richer topping.)
After 40 minutes, remove the dish from the oven and uncover it.
Sprinkle the OTC crumble evenly on top of the mac & cheese.
Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for another 10–15 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crisp.
Let mac and cheese cool 3-5 minutes prior to serving
Mix in prepared shrimp, crab or lobster to macaroni before the last step and season with your favorite seafood or creole seasoning
